419 – Internet Romance Scams
The following video is an internet romance scam special report that gets pretty in depth into how Nigerian scammers steal millions of dollars and pounds from unsuspecting people. The video was created in the UK and is one of the better videos out there showing how the scam actually occurs and where it occurs at. The title of this special report, being shown in two parts below, is “419 – Internet Romance Scams”. In the Nigerian Criminal Code – yes, they have one – entry 419 states, in part:
Any person who by any false pretence, and with intent to defraud, obtains from any other person anything capable of being stolen, or induces any other person to deliver to any person anything capable of being stolen, is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for three years.
Internet romance scams account for the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide as scammers have learned that manipulating a person’s heart is the best way to get that person’s money. If they can get you to care for a false persona they create then they know they can get your money, even if you generally don’t fall for that type of fraud…
