American Singles Launches New "Click" Feature

(onlinedatingmagazine.com - May 30, 2004) American Singles, one of the largest online communities for singles, has launched a new interactive technology that helps individual members determine if a mutual attraction exists with another member.

The patented technology, called Click!, takes much of the guess work out of online dating, by providing added confidence to initiate contact with other singles. While viewing profiles that meet members' individual preferences, members are asked "Think you'd click?" with the option to answer " yes," "no," or "maybe."

When two mutual "yes" choices are made, American Singles alerts both members and encourages them to contact one another. "Maybe" selections are e-mailed to members at a later date, presenting the opportunity for them to reconsider. If a member answers "no," that response is kept private.

"Click! is like having a close friend let you know they've just discovered that someone you're interested in is also interested in you," said Michael Riddell, Executive Vice President of New Product Development for MatchNet plc, parent company of American Singles. "This provides powerful motivation for you to take the next step and marks our latest advance in helping members initiate contact."

The patent applies to automating the process of confidentially determining whether people feel mutual attraction or a have mutual interest in one another and then automatically notifying the people involved when a mutual attraction exists.

Click! complements a host of other mutual attraction tools available to users of American Singles including: Hot Lists that unveil who's viewed your profile and who's "hot listed" you; Teases that act as conversation ice breakers; and Your Matches emails that deliver potential matches directly to your inbox.
