FriendFinder Revamps Dating Service

(onlinedatingmagazine.com - July 31, 2003) FriendFinder Inc. has relaunched its FriendFinder dating service, claiming that it "breaks new ground by becoming the first online dating destination to combine the reach of a truly global community with the intimacy of a personal social network."

FriendFinder now allows members to search other members or other members friends and acquaintances. The dating service now sports a new interface.

"With the new FriendFinder our members can have their cake and eat it too. They can find a salsa partner right next door, or a soul-mate in Amsterdam," claims said FriendFinder Inc. CEO, Andrew Conru. "They can meet new people through the people they already know. They can seek out new connections on another continent. Or they can combine the two approaches, by bridging several social networks around the globe.

he new FriendFinder site also boasts a slicker, more "results-oriented" interface, to help singles connect faster than ever. It was designed to fill the void between conventional matchmaking sites that operate like cold search engines, and social networking sites that lack the focus needed to help online daters make a love connection quickly.

"Before there was an Internet, most of us relied on our friends and acquaintances to introduce us to new social prospects," said Conru. "This worked well, but you were limited by the number of social opportunities you could attend -- like parties, company picnics and blind dates."

FriendFinder, Inc claims that its network of dating sites makes it larger than Yahoo! Personals and Match.com.
