American IDC to Open Nine Online Dating Sites

(onlinedatingmagazine.com - July 25, 2003) American IDC Corp. plans to launch nine dating sites each covering a different `niche' market in a development agreement with the site owners.

"We are making great strides in our entry into the online dating business. On December 27, 2002 we announced the acquisition of MatchRanger.com and now only eleven days later we are announcing our letter of intent to fully develop nine additional online dating sites. Even in the warp speed of the Internet world that is considered extremely fast progress," according to American IDC president, Gordon Lee. "This puts us well ahead of our timetable for becoming a significant player in the online dating arena."

The first dating site under this plan to be launched is My Coffee Date, which launched in May. The service capitalizes on the phenomenal success of online dating, coupling it with the tens of thousands of coffee shops that are the preferred venue for first time daters to meet

"To our knowledge, we are the only public company that is 100% focused on the acquisition, development and management of online dating web sites. Recent articles in the Wall Street Journal have discussed the huge growth and profitability of online dating. Combine this with Barry Diller's recent purchase of one online dating company for $150 million and it confirms that we have made the right decision to go forward in this direction," according to Lee.

In other news American IDC also announced the following:

1) It is continuing discussions with a number of other online dating operations that have expressed an interest in being acquired by the Company.

2) It will begin hiring additional staff to handle the anticipated increase in business activities as a result of its ongoing acquisition program.

3) In light of its business model of growing by acquisition, as well as by internal expansion of Company-owned matchmaking web services, American IDC will be taking steps shortly to change its corporate name to MatchMerge, Inc., a name that better describes its mission.
