Jack Black Online Dating Comedy Coming to NBC

(November 2, 2011) NBC has green-lighted the production of a new comedy, produced by Jack Black, that follows the misadventures of two people who meet via an online dating site and get together against the wishes of friends and family.

The half-hour comedy series, which has not yet been given a title, is expected to begin airing on NBC sometime in 2012, likely with the beginning of the Fall premieres next September. There won’t be a shortage of time slots available as NBC has already cancelled two shows (Free Agents & The Playboy Club) and is expected to cancel Harry’s Law and Prime Suspect within the next few months. In addition, NBC’s Chuck is in its final season.

For the new online dating comedy, Jack Black plans to be behind the camera and is keeping quite as to whether or not he’ll be in front of the camera as well as an actor. Black is in the upcoming The Muppets movie, being released this month. In it, he plays a game of “head bowling” with Gonzo. For the new online dating comedy, Black plans to be behind the camera. It’s not yet known if he will star as an actor in the series.

Online Dating Magazine will keep you posted on the show’s development and the premiere date when it is announced.
