AllPaws.comA  background in the online dating industry is proving to be a benefit to Darrell Lerner, who is using his experience to now match people with pets through his new AllPaws.com venture, which will launch in several weeks. Lerner’s background in the dating industry includes the creation of an “Are You Interested” dating app that has garnished more than 68 million downloads. Now he is hoping to gain success through AllPaws.com, which will use a familiar online dating matchmaking style to help match humans with animals in need of a home.

“I am so excited about the chance to combine my passion for startups with my love for animals,” Lerner, Founder & President of AllPaws.com.  “I have gained so much knowledge related to matching and connecting people from my years in the online dating space and we’re essentially re-creating that same exact experience again with AllPaws.com to better connect available pets with new owners.”

According to Lerner, AllPaws.com will use an online dating type interface and will include:

> direct messaging
> advanced pet searches
> email matching alerts
> pet profiles similar to online dating services.

The majority of the pets listed will come from homeless pet shelters and pet rescue facilities.

“I firmly believe that my expertise in this area, combined with the limited functionality of the existing market offerings, affords us a unique opportunity to build a transcendent and transformational product, while simultaneously doing a lot of good by helping more homeless pets find their way into good homes.”

The service will launch with more than 100,000 pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even llamas and alpacas.
