Online Dating Magazine surpassed 5,000 Twitter followers last week, a feat highlighted by the fact that Online Dating Magazine only follows 20 people.

“Our ‘being followed’ to ‘following’ ratio is incredible,” says Joe Tracy, Publisher of Online Dating Magazine. “Twitter has always been our preferred method of social interaction. We’re happy to have hit our first milestone by surpassing 5,000 followers. Our next goal is to hit 6,000 Twitter followers in less than a year.”

Online Dating Magazine will be putting a stronger focus on Twitter. Starting tomorrow, the publication will begin tweeting interesting online dating articles found on other reputable sites. Early plans are also being put in place for a series of daily non-linked posts.”

Online Dating Magazine has been on Twitter for five years, roughly gaining 1,000 Twitter followers a year.

Outside of Twitter, Online Dating Magazine has been slow to adopt and grow other social media platforms. But that is about to change.

Starting in July, Online Dating Magazine will introduce several social media updates and upgrades to its Facebook and Google + accounts. In addition, a number of online dating videos are currently in production for Online Dating Magazine’s YouTube account.
