I rate Yahoo!
Personals only a five because of its lack
of recognition that in sending "matches" most
people who run ads there do have ethnic preferences.
Not to get into a big PC discussion that race shouldn't
matter; fact is it does. I've been sent matches that,
upon viewing them, state in their profiles they want
nothing to do with a black man. In effect, my "matches" are
absolute duds.
Another disappointing aspect is the number of profiles
that have been inactive for up to six months or more.
It seems Yahoo! is falsely inflating the numbers of
profiles from which to choose when many are clearly
inactive. I think if a profile hasn't been active in
three months, it should be automatically deleted so
as not to waste the time of those who really want to
meet active members.
