Review
Match.com really is the best site out there (I've tried
more than a dozen).
Pros
Large membership numbers means there is a wide pool
of daters in your age group and local area.
Photos display well. And you are given enough flexibility
within the confines of the profile fields to really
give someone a taste of who you are.
The search tool is excellent. You can really hone
down your criteria.
Alert emails let you know when someone has contacted
you.
"Who's Looking at Me" functionality lets
you see who has been looking at your profile.
Cons
It's a bit expensive, but compared to the other sites
worth the price. You are allowed unlimited contacts.
It would be nice to be able to control who knows you
are looking at them on a member by member basis. Example,
I go on a date with a guy. I really like him and I
want to keep revisiting his profile. But I don't want
him to think I'm stalking him or something. I wish
I could flip a switch so HE doesn't know I'm looking
at him.
By the same token, I wish Match.com did not reveal how
often I visit the site. Maybe I don't want a guy I'm
dating to know that I checked the site three hours
after our date. You know? You should be able to turn
that feature off if you want to.
Still, in all, a pretty good site.
