I would give this site a zero if I could. Well, unless
you think the two hour test is valuable. If you really
would pay $40 for a personality test (that's how
eHarmony values it), then I suppose you are getting
something out of it. However, simply by signing up
for the free test, you are contributing to the problem
with this site. The problem is:
Many of the profiles that are sent to members are
not "real" or "active".
See, it is free to sign up for the site and take the
test. But to do so, you have to create
your profile page. Unfortunately, even if you never
actually pay
to join and make it "real", your profile
is being sent out to matches in your area -- and it
is never revealed to these matches that you aren't "real" or "active".
Your matches may even like your profile and they may
even try to contact you. However, you will not be able
to reply to the poor saps to let them know that your
profile is not "active" unless you pay the
astronomical fee to join (over $250 per year billable
at once!), because you can't send an email unless you
pay.
I think eHarmony should be sued under the bait and
switch law (and I think there's a real case for it).
Meantime, I wouldn't waste my time or my money --
and I wouldn't sign up for the free profile. Unless
you want to be part of the problem.
