Today I canceled my membership. After nearly three
months I had no matches. One guy got to "en
communication" was
obviously crazy - no harm no foul there... you can't
screen for everything.
My only other communication
closed my match when he saw my photo, with a lie
- that we were communicating
outside of eHarmony.
Perhaps he thought this would sound better than "other".
I never heard from him. All but two of my very few
matche (evidently I am truly a unique catch) closed
the match without
ever talking to me.
Now am I really fat and ugly? I
am cute and yes I wear a 16 (not Kristie Alley territory
but definately full
figuresd chubby, whatever). On other sites, in bars
and even on the street I have met great guys, who
seem to have no problem with my body. Probably because
I
am funny and happy and smart... and cute. I am someone
who has had poems published about me, my portrait
painted more than once... but this site did not let
any clue
of that person through. I joined this site because
I hoped to meet a more bookish guy and PhD's don't
seem
to hang out where I do. I like the smart guys.
Also
I had to lie about my age. I am 52 but even the harshest
critic puts me mid thirties. I don't
in general
find men my own age able to keep up with me. I
still follow current music and culture as well as reading
the canon. I am not ready to tuck up in front of
a fire with my arthritis meds. So I took 10 years
off
and still found the age range I was matched with
too restrictive. To be fair, I always planned to
tell the
guys my true age.. but I never got to the talking
phase with any of them.
I guess I will go back to
picking up guys in museums.
