After using eHarmony for 3+ months I would have to
give them a low rating. Their service seems good
on the surface but I have a number of issues with
it overall.
1. Nonpaying members who cannot communicate with you.
There are a large number of nonpaying members who have
filled out a profile but are not paying members and
cannot communicate with you.
2. Fake members who email you and lead you on especially
when your membership is about to expire.
3. Matching criteria. There is no way to adjust
the age range you match with. eHarmony arbitrarily
sets it to what they think is acceptable. 5 years
younger
to 10 older for male matches. 10 years younger to
5 years older for female matches. I personally don't
date guys younger than me and also don't want to
date
guys much older than me.
4. The way the matches are given out is suspicious.
It seems kind of strange that the number of matches
is spread out and that matches only seem to be given
once or twice a week. And it is funny that I was
sent a similar email as a male friend of mine. The
email
my male friend received stated that there are twice
as many women on eHarmony as
men, yet I got a similar email that said there are
twice as many men as women
on eHarmony!
Those two statements can't both be correct, so someone
at eHarmony is
lying.
6. They should have a place to view information like
weight, build, and level of physical activity but nowhere
can you find that about a person. I would like to have
a general idea especially since not everyone posts
a picture. It should also list religious preference
in the bio where you can see it.
7. eHarmony's lack
of customer service is atrocious. Any kind of email
you send them is met with an automated
reply and then you are lucky if they even respond
after a weeks wait. And I just had a simple question.
They
are so lacking in this area that it is not even funny.
And I also noticed that after searching that they
don't list any contact phone numbers.
I would have to rate them very low. Their service
doesn't measure up to the advertised hype of eharmony.
What a lousy service. They use every psychological
trick in the book to get people to spend their money.
They play on emotions and desires and then don't deliver.
Don't waste your money.
