Online Dating Service Opens... for Farmers Only

niche services filling a variety of needs for daters.
Now one more can be added to the list - FarmersOnly.com.
FarmersOnly.com,
launched last May, is a site that targets farmers,
ranchers, and country folk. This is emphasized through
the site's slogan, "City Folks Just
Don't Get It!"
The site was founded by Jerry Miller, owner of the
marketing and public relations firm for
the
Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association.
"I truly feel there is more of a need for this
matchmaking site then any other singles site on the
web," said Miller. Miller claims that his inspiration
came from meeting a female farmer who, recently divorced,
was having problems meeting other people. Her experiences
with online dating were frustrating because the men
communicating with her didn't understand the lifestyle
of a farmer. Miller tried to help her by searching
for a dating service she could use that appealed to
farmers. He didn't find one, so he started his own
after talking with other single farmers.
"One
thing they all had in common was a feeling of hopelessness
in ever being able to find someone whose lifestyle
matched theirs," said Miller. "The need
for a real online dating service focusing on farmers
and
ranchers became clear. Six months later, after thousands
of hours of research and interviews, I launched FarmersOnly.com"
While typical online dating sites ask if you are employed
in business, finance or computers, on FarmersOnly.com
you are asked what type of livestock you raise or what
type of crops you grow.
"Since I started FarmersOnly.com, I've received
many emails and phone calls from members thrilled to
finally have a place to go to meet singles with similar
backgrounds and lifestyles," said Miller. "After
only a few months, this site is quickly becoming the
place for farmers to come and meet others and possibly
make that love connection for which they've been searching.
