TRUEBeginnings Adds "Single
Parent Expert" to Staff
(onlinedatingmagazine.com -
April 29, 2004) TRUEBeginnings, a new online dating
service, has added
author, instructor, researcher and licensed psychotherapist
Karin H. Bruckner, MA, LPC, to its growing team of
psychology researchers. As the team's dedicated "Single
Parent Expert," Bruckner will utilize her years
of experience as a psychotherapist to offer
the guidance, counsel and encouragement single parents
need to find loving and lasting romantic relationships.
Bruckner brings nearly ten years of experience
as a licensed counselor and therapist to the TRUEBeginnings team with specific expertise in such key areas as family
and marital conflict, divorce and blended family issues,
adolescent issues, anger management, crisis intervention,
substance abuse and women's issues. In her new position
at TRUEBeginnings, Bruckner will work closely with
the company's director of psychological studies, James
Houran, Ph.D., to provide those members who are single
parents specialized counsel and relationship advice
suited to their life goals.
"Single parents are under a great deal of pressure
to 'do the right thing' both for themselves and for
their children, which makes the goal of finding the
right mate even more challenging," said Houran. "That's
why we've added Karin Bruckner to our team -- as an
expert who has the contemporary experience and understanding
necessary to help our single-parent members find what
they're looking for."
"I'm honored to be a part of the TRUEBeginnings team. We've got something special to offer single parents
who are looking for a meaningful relationship, but
don't have the time or resources to go about it thoroughly
and effectively," said Bruckner. "TRUEBeginnings
offers a veritable safe haven, where single-parent
adults can find the compatibility they desire, with
less risk and worry. My years of experience in marriage
and family therapy have prepared me well to help today's
single parents successfully navigate the dating world
-- for both their happiness and their children's."
Prior to joining TRUEBeginnings, Bruckner worked for
MHN, Inc., a national behavioral health services company.
She is also the co-founder of an ongoing research project
consisting of multiple long- and short-term studies
concerning women's anger. Her research work has resulted
in two books, The
Anger Advantage and Women's
Anger: Clinical and Developmental Perspectives. Additionally,
based on her research, Bruckner has led several workshops
focused on women, anger and families in crisis. Bruckner
earned her MA in psychology, from Texas Women's University.
