Single Dads Get Serious Before Introducing Kids to a New Mate

(onlinedatingmagazine.com - May 29, 2003) In a poll of 4500 single fathers conducted by online dating service American Singles, 40 percent of the single dads said that they would prefer to wait until they’ve been dating someone steadily before introducing their children to a new romantic partner. In addition, 37 percent would hold-off until the relationship became “serious”. 18 percent saw no need to wait and would introduce their kids to someone they met on the first date.

“Twenty-three percent of our male members are single dads," stated Gail Laguna, spokesperson for AmericanSingles.com. "We found their dating habits to be similar to that of the single mothers at AmericanSingles and their children play an important role in their dating practices,”

What Single Women Think
In a separate poll of over 7000 single women, 60 percent said that it doesn’t matter if a man has children or not when deciding to go on a date. Another 20 percent of single women said they’d consider dating a single dad in their search for the right man. Nine percent of the ladies said they personally make it a rule never to date single dads.

Celebrity Singles - The Sexiest Single Dad
52 percent of American Singles voted Tom Cruise as the sexiest single dad. Dennis Quaid came in second at 27 percent, followed by Jim Carrey at 14 percent, Nicole Kidman with 18 percent and Pamela Anderson at 12 percent.
