Letter to the Editor:
Another Man to Avoid Dating - "The Gamer"
Editor's
Note: The following letter is in reference
to the article "Five
Men to Avoid Dating" and the Letter to the Editor
that mentions a sixth
to avoid dating - "The Dude".
I've had my fair share of this one, and I think others
need to be on the look out...

The Gamer
This guy has never grown up past his days
as a outcast high school student. His friends are
the only ones he really cares about, and he can go
on for hours about their latest rpg campaign. If
you're hot, you have an advantage because you're
that much closer to the woman he lusts over online
or in the fantasy art books for his games. He spends
hours tweaking his computer for optimal performance,
and most conversations the two of you have will
involve you talking to his back, set to the tune
of swords slashing and vicious demons growling.
His idea of "going out" will involve
either calling in for dinner and going to pick
it up, or hitting the bar, cause there isn't any
alcohol around.
Why
you should stay away: You'll never live up to
his virtual expectations on how woman should behave
or look. If you don't know how to handle a weapon,
or enjoy dressing in leather every other night, or
know what the point of a twenty sided dice is, you're
going to find yourself woefully neglected. He might
give you just enough attention to keep you holding
on, but as soon as he can, he'll be back in front
of the computer. The response to any argument will
boil down to "What's
the problem? It's something I enjoy doing, but
it's not real. Why should it bother you? It's just
fantasy"
How
to get rid of him: Ask him to give up Friday night
gaming and take *you* out every once in a while.
