How Old Do You Have to Be to do Online Dating?

How old to do online dating?(Online Dating FAQ)

Q: How old do you have to be to do online dating?

A: The vast majority of online dating services require that you be at least 18 years old to join and use the service.  Most online dating services do not have a maximum age for use. And as baby boomers and seniors are currently the largest growing segment of online daters, older ages are being welcomed and courted by online dating services.

Here are the age policies of the top online dating services:

Match.com – must be at least 18 years of age.
PlentyOfFish – must be 18 to join or visit the service.
eHarmony.com – must be at least 20 years old to use the service.
LavaLife.com – must be at least 18 years of age.
Chemistry.com – must be at least 18 years of age.
PerfectMatch.com –  must be at least 18 years old.

None of the major online dating services or majority of niche dating services cater to people under the age of 18. In addition, the majority also require you to be single, divorced, or legally separated in order to use.

  2. In my opinion, online dating is suitable for those who are over 25.

Dating websites ask people to be 18, but I think they should make the requirement to be 25.

Unfortunately there are lots of under 18 kids who try online dating.
