Online niche dating service MillionaireMatch has surpassed two million members since it’s launch 12 years ago. The service is now planning a rapid expansion, beginning with several dating apps people will be able to use on their smartphones and tablets. MillionaireMatch falls into the “niche” category of online dating, catering specific to people who are rich. The site includes doctors, CEOs, athletes, beauty queens, investors, and lawyers. The service says they’ve also had celebrities use the service.
MillionaireMatch describes a “millionaire” as “anyone who earns $200,000 and above annually.” MillionaireMatch offers an optional verification service so that people searching know they are talking to a real “verified” person. But those who aren’t millionaires are also allowed to use the service.
Reuters news agency is currently doing a video on people who met through MillionaireMatch. In a press release, MillionaireMatch’s Marketing Manager, Jeffrey*, stated that the Reuters interview was vital to help establish MillionaireMatch as a trustworthy site.
“If we are not trusted at the beginning, we will take every effort to prove ourselves and be definitely trusted in the end. This TV interview will be the best proof.”
In 2008, Forbes magazine did an article about millionaire dating services, stating that Charlie Sheen even used the service for several months. MillionaireMatch launched in 2001 and is one of two dozen online dating sites run by SuccessfulMatch.
