Online Dating Experience 44
Discovered Changes with Internet Dating
39 year old female
from Texas I met a man back in 1999 on Love@AOL.
We chatted for a couple of weeks online and talked
on the phone before we decided to meet. I drove to
his area one Sunday afternoon and we sat in the restaurant
and talked for five solid hours.
Needless to say, I
felt there was something between us that day since
we continued
to date for two more years before getting married.
Well, we ended up getting married and lasted for
about 4 1/2 years. I later found out my husband was
gay and
he is now having a relationship with a man. So, due
to the situation I filed for divorce and am much
happier these days.
I am now to the point where I want to start dating
again. I will mention that I am being much more careful
these days and feel it is important that I am if I
am deciding to explore dating through the internet
again. I have discovered many changes with internet
dating since I met my ex about some seven years ago.
I am convinced I will meet the love of my life one
day whether it is online or some social setting in
the real world. The good thing is there are many options
available that people can choose from as far as talking
to people in the chat rooms, dating websites, or dating
personal services. So, these days I am even leaving
all my options open as far as meeting the right person.
I have checked into a few of the dating websites and
find that some are better than others for obvious reasons.
I know that happy endings are possible online and
I am just trying to encourage everyone not to give
up if you really want to find your true love. I have
had a few dates since my divorce and things are going
pretty well for me. I feel I have more opportunities
available to me now than when I met my ex husband.
Some words of advice - please meet the person for
the first time in a public setting, really take the
time to get to know someone before considering a serious
relationship with me (I have found more people pretend
to be someone they aren't on the internet and several
like to play games) and follow your heart and mind.
If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is
because I am finding that out the hard way.
So, this is my two cents worth as far as online dating
is concerned. I have met eight people online since
I started this type of dating some time back. Some
are
good experiences
and some are actually worth forgetting. To be honest
with you, I feel I could write a book about my online
dating experiences. Take care and lots of luck to everyone.
