I
met a guy on eHarmony.com who
seemed great at the time: a successful surgeon, intelligent,
and attractive.
We emailed back and forth for almost a month then I
gave the phone number and we had long conversations
on the phone. We met soon after (too soon as it turns
out) and connected immediately (or so I thought).
He
was suave, which, in retrospect, must have come from
a lot of practice. He had all the right words and
moves and I hate to say it but I fell for it all! What
I
thought was a connection was, for him, just another
notch in the proverbial bedpost since he never got
in touch again and when I called him, he hung up
on me!! Turns out he lied about his age (he said 39,
he's
really 42) and who knows what else.
My advice is to
take it slowly. The electronic communication process
can give you a false sense of knowing somebody. And
always trust your instincts; hopefully they will
keep you out of danger and away from the players.
