Online Dating Insight
Online dating makes it much easier to date than in the past. However, some people still become "desperate" when online dating doesn't start working the way they want it to. Expectations and reality are often two separate things. For example, many people expect virtually everyone they email on a dating service to respond back. But in reality, only about 1 in every 20 do. Not realizing this, some online daters will simply copy and paste a generic message, emailing it to everyone they can. In reality, online dating is like farming in that you need to cultivate for success. First, check the date the person was last on the online dating service (most services show this). If it is more than 3 weeks then don't waste your time in sending a message. Next, when you send a message to someone, don't make it generic. Look through the person's profile and ask a few questions based on things they said in their profile. Work on improving the quality of your messages and you'll be much better at getting responses.
